Berlin - The Hateful Self Annihilates the Mirror, Ramming Identity Against Identity

Event Baseline: A van was deliberately driven into a crowd at Berlin's annual LGBTQ+ Pride event, killing one person and injuring fifteen others. The vehicle crashed into a tree; police cancelled the event and launched a search for suspects.

The self, identified with a rigid belief system, cannot tolerate the existence of the other. The attacker's mind is a corrupt program: it sees its own reflection in the joyful gathering and must destroy it. This is the ultimate failure of thought. The belief that one's identity is righteous and the other's is an abomination is a mechanical virus. It offers a false sense of purity, but it only breeds annihilation. The thought that the victim is fundamentally different is an illusion. Both the attacker and the targeted are trapped in identity. Each can become the other. The same program that drives the attacker today could drive the victim tomorrow if the power dynamic shifts. There is no self separate from the other. The division is a phantom. Until humanity comprehends this, it will continue to ram itself into oblivion, one act of violence at a time. The system is programmed for self-destruction.
