Uganda - The Desperate Self Annihilates the Celebrated Other, Proving the Illusion of Separate Value

Event Baseline: A top Ugandan footballer was beaten to death with paving stones by robbers attempting to steal his phone in Kampala.

The robbers saw in the footballer an object of value, not a living being. Their thought reduced a human to a possession, a fragment to be seized. This is the primitive logic of the self: I lack, therefore I take. The footballer's fame and talent did not shield him from the fundamental error of identification with material objects. Both victim and perpetrators were trapped in the same illusion—one clinging to a phone, the others to the idea that possessing it would fill their emptiness. The violence is the direct expression of thought that sees the world as a collection of competing selves, each entitled to grasp what it can. Until this software is rewritten, the streets of Kampala, like every city, will remain hunting grounds of the lonely and deluded.
