The victim is not the body; it is the thought of the other. This is the division created by thought: the believer divides the world into the saved and the damned, then acts to annihilate the damned. But the bomb does not destroy the illusion of the self; it only perpetuates the cycle of trauma. The Taliban, as the state self, cannot secure its own people because it is itself a product of the same fragmentation.
