Event Baseline: Israel carried out an air strike on a Syrian air base. American and Syrian officials confirmed the attack. It is the latest in a series of Israeli military interventions in Syria over two years.

The tribal self cannot stop drawing lines in the sand and then bombing across them. Israel attacks Syria because its memory software still runs the old program: the other is a threat simply because it exists beyond the border. Syria is a shattered mirror, but the Israeli self sees only the reflection of its own fear.

The United States objects, but it too is a tribal self, concerned only with controlling the violence it has licensed. There is no peace possible when the root is undiagnosed. The operating system has no concept of shared body. It only knows self and other.
