[DR Congo / Goma] - The Invading Self Overruns the Sanctuary, Proving the Illusion of a Safe Haven

Event Baseline: Rwanda-backed rebels entered Goma, causing gunfire and shelling. Over one million displaced people were reported inside the city at the time.

National and ethnic identity drives the armed factions. Rwanda-backed rebels enter Goma because their self-image demands expansion. The Congolese troops resist because their self-image demands defense. Both are puppets of the tribalism software. The city was supposed to be a safe haven for over one million displaced people. But there is no safe haven in a mind divided by borders. The sanctuary becomes a kill zone because the thought 'us vs them' cannot be contained.

The displaced are the living proof of the failure. They fled one conflict only to be trapped in another. The illusion of separate survival is complete. Each group believes its own survival requires the other's subjugation. This is a feedback loop of violence. The only exit is to see that the boundary between Rwanda and Congo is a line drawn by dead men. It is not real. The land does not know the difference. Only thought does. Until that thought dies, the killing will never end.
