[Sudan / Chad] - The Denying Self Hides the Proxy War Behind a Phantom of Neutrality

Event Baseline: Chad denied any involvement in the war in Sudan during a session of the UN Human Rights Council, rejecting accusations that it serves as a logistical rear base for Sudan's Rapid Support Forces. The denial occurs as conflict continues between Sudanese armed forces and the RSF paramilitary.

The national self is a mask of innocence. Chad says it is not involved while its territory and roads are used to fuel slaughter. The denial is not a false statement. It is the self protecting its image of purity. The border is a line drawn by thought. Reality does not respect it. Weapons, fighters, and refugees cross without asking for permission.

The observer in N'Djamena sees the war as 'over there' in Sudan. That separation is a lie. The war is in the body of the region. The self cannot be neutral because the self is the region. But thought insists on boundaries. It says 'I am Chad, not Sudan.' That thought is the same thought that kills in Darfur. It is the same thought that denies.

There is no shared humanity while identity is built on flags. The RSF and the Sudanese army are two sides of the same broken self. Chad is a third side. They all drink from the same poisoned well of separate survival. The denial only delays the moment when the conflict devours the denier.
