[Germany / Far-Right Party] - The Defensive Self Denies the Other a Seat at the Table to Protect a Phantom of Security

Event Baseline: German federal officials are preparing to restrict the Alternative for Germany party's access to classified intelligence as the party approaches power in a state government.

The state divides itself into trusted and untrusted. Then it hides its own workings from a part of itself. This is not protection. It is the fracture. The fear of the far right is the fear of a thought that has already taken root. By excluding it, the state strengthens the very thing it fears: the sense of persecution, the narrative of the outsider.

The illusion is that a border can be drawn inside the mind of the nation. There is no inside and outside. The far right is the shadow of the liberal self's own unresolved violence. The liberal self refuses to look at its own nationalism, its own exclusion, its own desire for purity. Therefore it projects it onto the other and then locks the door. Until that is seen, the exclusion will become a battle, and the battle will become the only shared meaning.
