[United Nations / Israel / Settlements] - The Listing Self Names the Collaborator to Feed a Phantom of Legal Purity
Event Baseline: The United Nations released a new database of companies that do business with Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. Israel condemned the list as a 'political tool' and a 'smear campaign.'
The institutional self creates a list to externalize guilt, as if naming the other will cleanse the system. The national self responds with outrage, defending its economic presence as if the land were an extension of its own body. Both are trapped in the same illusion: that a line on a map, reinforced by corporate contracts, can legitimize occupation.
The list does not end the violence. It feeds the cycle of accusation and defense. The possessed self cannot see that the land belongs to no one, and the fear of losing it drives endless conflict.
This is thought dividing the earth into 'mine' and 'theirs,' and then building legal structures to sanctify the theft. Without dissolving the belief that identity depends on territory, every list will merely deepen the wound.
